Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Tasmanian Young Labor website.
This website will give you an idea of what Young Labor is, what we believe in and the type of events we hold. Young Labor has a vital role to play as the youth voice of the ALP, representing the needs and ideas of young people in the party. Getting involved in the Labor Party at a young age demonstrates a passion to make a difference in our society and to help deliver a socially just, equal and fair nation. Young Labor actively engages in grass-roots politics to help elect Labor governments. It also provides opportunities for young people to voice ideas, to debate policies and offers a chance to socialise and interact with other likeminded people.
If you would like to see Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister, to be apart of policy-making or just want to attend social events, then I strongly urge those who want to make a difference, to join Young Labor.

Young Labor Supporting Julie Collins

Young Labor is fully supportive of Julie Collins and will be helping her win the seat of Franklin for Labor.
Young Labor will be doing much of the groundwork for Julie, helping door-knock, letter boxing, talking to members of the community and helping constructing posters. Working on campaigns not only helps individual candidates get elected but you gain experience interacting with the community. Young Labor is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn how campaigns are run.
This election will be the most significant in Australia’s history and urge all supporting Labor to help out on the campaign. Below is a volunteer for Julie if you want to be apart of the campaign to help elect a Rudd Labor government. I urge all who want Kevin Rudd to be Prime minister to help out on Julie’s campaign therefore ensuring that there is not a return of the Howard government.
